Meet Katherine Bruce

Meet Katherine Bruce, a junior studying Earth, Society, and Environmental Sustainability (ESES) and Communication with a minor in Geography and Geographic Information Science (GGIS). Bruce is a part of the 2024-2025 Education iCAP Team, and brings with her a passion for bridging the gap between students, faculty, and the campus community.

After stumbling across the iCAP portal and expressing her interest in the position, Bruce now acts as the Education Team clerk, helping with administrative tasks during iCAP meetings and providing insight into how to best implement sustainability education throughout campus.

“As a student, I think it is my duty to leave this campus a better place than I found it, and to me, that looks like working to increase sustainability efforts on campus.”

Bruce appreciates that this position can help her connect passionate students with sustainability resources and opportunities that are available via iCAP initiatives. In the future, she hopes to apply the communication and organization skills she has developed through this position as a sustainability consultant or through policy work for the government.

In her free time, Bruce loves to enjoy the outdoors, try new foods, read, thrift, and do pilates!
